A Police Constable attached to the Presidential Security Detail was killed this morning along with four civilians after the escort vehicle in the presidential convoy collided head on with a Toyota Feilder Wagon.

The president was not in any of the vehicles at the time of the accident.

While the dead policeman has been identified Constable Rondell Barker, the identities of the civilians are not yet confirmed. we were told that there is at least one other police who was part of the convoy and is in a critical condition his name was given as Travis Fullington.

Police sources could not say exactly what caused the crash but we were informed that the convoy was making its way along the East Bank to pick up President David Granger when the crash occurred.

The presidential convoy is not known for moving at high speeds, at least when the president is being transported.

The police investigations into the matter continues.
