July 30 2025
Roy Anthony Bradford, who was reported missing on July 27, 2025, has been found alive and is now safely in the care of his grandmother in Mocha, East Bank Demerara.
On Tuesday, July 29, between 09:50 hrs and 16:40 hrs, investigators from the Guyana Police Force, including Detective Sergeant Lynch, Detective Corporal Autin, and Detective Constable Blair, conducted a search operation in the Berbice River near Mara Village. They were accompanied by Bradford’s sister, Kathy Seon, a 34-year-old cook from Cinderella City, Amelia’s Ward, Linden. Despite an extensive search, Bradford was not located at the time.
However, at approximately 16:40 hrs, Bradford contacted his other sister, Niketta Bobb, via WhatsApp video call and informed her that after falling overboard, he managed to swim to shore. He reportedly walked to a nearby camp, where a man of African descent assisted him and took him to Ituni. From there, Bradford said he boarded public transportation and traveled to his grandmother’s residence.
His grandmother, 77-year-old Joy Barker of Mocha, confirmed that Bradford had arrived safely and was in good health.
Police have since closed the missing person’s investigation and expressed relief over the positive outcome.
