Ministry of Housing begins operations at new headquarters

September 1 2026
The Ministry of Housing and Central Housing and Planning Authority (CH&PA) have commenced operations at their new headquarters at Houston EBD, marking the beginning of a phased transition of departments and public services to the facility.

Several key departments are already fully operational at the new location, including the Community Development Department, which previously operated from the Old Dairy Bar Building, and the Planning Department, which handles the processing of Planning Permissions.

The Community Development Department provides services related to regularisation, relocation and community development, while all services previously offered at the Camp Street Annex have also been relocated to the new headquarters.
The move forms part of efforts to consolidate the Ministry’s operations and improve the efficiency and accessibility of services provided to citizens.
Minister within the Ministry Vanessa Benn, Permanent Secretary Bishram Kuppen and CH&PA Chief Executive Officer Dr Martin Pertab were on-site earlier today to oversee the transition, engage staff and review operational arrangements.
The relocation is being carried out in phases, with additional departments and service areas expected to move to the new headquarters over the coming days.
Members of the public are being asked to exercise patience during the transition as the Ministry works to maintain continuity of services and minimise disruptions.
Further updates are expected as additional departments begin operations from the new facility.
