Good Hope Secondary Wins Big at International Karate Championship in Curaçao

The Ministry of Education has extended congratulations to members of the Good Hope Secondary School Karate Club, representing Goshindo Dojo Guyana, for their exceptional performance at the Buena Vista Karate Dojo 35th Anniversary International Championship, held in Willemstad, Curaçao, from November 7 to 8.

Competing against athletes from across the region and beyond, the young martial artists displayed remarkable discipline, skill, and determination—earning multiple medals and bringing pride to both their school and country.

In the Kata Division, Ayesha Khan captured a silver medal, while Alesha Khan earned bronze. In the Kumite Division, all three athletes—Ayesha Khan, Alesha Khan, and Keneisa Best—each secured honorary gold medals in their respective categories.
The Ministry commended the team’s performance as a reflection of the strength of Guyana’s school sports and extracurricular programmes, applauding Good Hope Secondary for its commitment to excellence and youth empowerment.
