Man in custody for cattle theft at Bachelor’s Adventure

Authorities are investigating an alleged cattle theft at Bachelor’s Adventure, East Coast Demerara, with one man currently in custody.
The incident occurred between Saturday, March 14 and Monday, March 16, and involved a 61-year-old farmer of Melanie Railway Embankment, East Coast Demerara.
According to police, the farmer had left two heifers grazing at a pasture in the Bachelor’s Adventure area. However, upon returning, the animals were discovered missing.
Subsequent enquiries led to a location at Factory Road, Paradise, where a 44-year-old man was arrested in connection with the matter. Suspected beef and animal skin were also recovered and lodged as part of the investigation.
Investigators have since recovered one of the missing animals alive.
The probe into the alleged cattle larceny is ongoing.
