Chris Sobers, a 22-year-old resident of Kaneville, East Bank Demerara, appeared today in Georgetown Magistrate’s Court to face charges related to causing death by dangerous driving.

The charge stemmed from a fatal accident on April 4, 2024, which resulted in the death of 28-year-old motorcyclist Edward Solomon.

Sobers was driving motor car PAF 4593 at the time of the accident, which occurred around 15:20 hrs at the intersection of Mandela Avenue and Freeman Street in Georgetown.

Following the court proceedings, Chief Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus set Sobers’ bail at $300,000 and adjourned the case to July 9, 2024, at 10:00 hrs for disclosure at Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.
