Deported Drug Trafficker Ghalee Khan Charged with Partner’s Murder

April 15 2025 — Ghalee Khan, a 47-year-old businessman and deported drug trafficker, has been charged with the murder of his partner, Marissa Beete, following a fatal shooting at her home in Parfaite Harmonie on April 8, 2025.
Khan was formally charged on Tuesday after being discharged from the hospital, where he was receiving treatment for a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The charge was laid based on legal advice received by police investigators. He appeared at the Wales Magistrate’s Court, where the indictable charge was read to him.
Khan was not required to plead and was remanded to prison until his next court appearance, scheduled for May 27, 2025.
The victim, 29-year-old Marissa Beete, was an employee of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport. Reports indicate that Khan visited her Recht-Door-Zee, Parfaite Harmonie residence on the evening of the incident. Although the couple had been in a relationship for two years, they were reportedly estranged at the time.
According to accounts from the scene, Beete’s mother had advised her not to open the door when Khan arrived, but Beete eventually did and the two went to speak privately. Moments later, a loud explosion was heard.
Beete was discovered bleeding on the ground, having sustained gunshot injuries. Khan allegedly shot her a second time before retreating to another room in the house and turning the gun on himself.
Khan, who is known to local law enforcement, was deported from the United States in 2024 after serving a prison sentence for drug trafficking.
