32-Y-O Bibi Shelleza Ally, a resident of Annandale South, East Coast Demerara, was fined $20,000 after she was found guilty of using Abusive Language towards Savitri Laikram and Miranda Laikram.

Ally, a mother of five, had first appeared on May 16 at the Vigilance Magistrates Court on charges of using abusive and threatening language.

Presiding Magistrate; Orinthia Schmidt dismissed the threatening language charges due to insufficient evidence, but upheld trial for the charges of Abusive Language.

The defendant told the court that she means no harm to Ms Laikram and Ms Laikram and promised to stay clear of the individuals so as to avoid further conflict.

Failure to pay the fine would warrant a four-week prison sentence for Ally.
