Jury finds three men guilty of killing vendor in 2017.

A jury, on Tuesday, found three men guilty of murder over the death of a 51-year-old man who was killed during a robbery at his home.
Between July 24 and 26, 2017, the jurors found that the trio– Chandrapaul Persaud, 50, Heralall Ramdhan, 59, and Jagishwar Dhanai, 34– murdered Dhanpaul Dookie called Paulie or Short Man in the course/furtherance of a robbery.
The trio, who had initially pleaded not guilty, had been on trial for the capital offence before Justice Priya Sewnarine-Beharry and a 12-member jury at the High Court in Georgetown.
All represented by legal counsel during the trial proceedings, the now-convicted men, prior to their incarceration, had resided at Lusignan, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
Their sentencing hearing has been scheduled for June 27 at 9 am.
According to reports, Dookie, a vendor, was murdered in the course or furtherance of a robbery at his residence at Uitspa Village, Demerara River.
It was reported that the man was found dead with multiple stab wounds in his home at around 08:00 hours on July 26, 2017.
