Captain Joy Adams etched her name into championship folklore on Saturday night, unleashing a monumental triple-double performance that electrified Georgetown and propelled Guyana to a devastating 106-42 obliteration of Suriname at Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.

The Spain-based professional orchestrated a masterclass of basketball brilliance, finishing with 19 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists, becoming the tournament's first player to achieve the historic feat. With the roaring home crowd transforming the venue into a cauldron of noise, Adams controlled both ends of the floor with surgical precision, dictating Guyana's offensive tempo and defensive intensity in their most complete championship performance to date.

Guyana unleashed an offensive inferno that absolutely obliterated Suriname's resistance, with all five starters combining for a staggering 99 of the team's 106 points in a devastating display of offensive firepower and chemistry.

Anaya McDavid terrorized the rim with an explosive 24-point performance on a blistering 75% shooting efficiency, while Amisha Ramlall shot the lights out for 25 points on an efficient 10-of-15 from the field. Ruth Adams muscled her way to a double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds, while Ashna Ramlall added 12 points on efficient 6-of-10 shooting as every starter punished Suriname's overwhelmed defense.

Defensively, Guyana was suffocating, holding the hapless Surinamese to a pathetic 23.4% shooting as the hosts clogged passing lanes, contested every shot, and forced relentless turnovers throughout the lopsided affair.

Guyana now stands on the precipice of championship glory, with tonight's pivotal clash against Jamaica determining who claims a top-two finish and cement their place among the tournament's elite.

The hosts, energized by their comprehensive demolition of Suriname and galvanized by their electrifying home crowd, must summon another inspired performance to secure their spot in next year's Centrobasket Women's Championship. With everything on the line and the tournament title still within reach, Guyana faces their ultimate test tonight as they look to cap off a memorable championship run on home soil with a signature victory.
