Guyana Claims Squash Bronze Through Gomes and Khalil at CAC Games

Guyana added another medal to its tally at the ongoing Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games in the Dominican Republic, with squash duo Jason-Ray Khalil and Kirsten Gomes securing bronze in the mixed doubles competition.
After an impressive run to the semi-finals, the Guyanese pair faced Mexico’s Alfredo Avila and Luz Lopez, but were defeated in straight games, 11-4, 11-0.
Under the tournament format, losing semi-finalists are both awarded bronze medals, while the victorious teams advance to contest the gold medal match.
Khalil and Gomes will now turn their focus to the team events, with Guyana’s men’s and women’s squash teams set to begin their campaigns on August 6.
