A 24-year-old taxi driver from Enmore, East Coast Demerara, was on Wednesday charged with possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking after police reportedly found 3.75 pounds of cannabis-infused gummies in his possession.

The accused, Tyreek Jagnandan, appeared before Chief Magistrate Faith McGusty at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, where the charge was read.

Jagnandan pleaded not guilty to the offence.

He was released on $50,000 bail, and the matter was adjourned until September 24, 2025, for disclosure.
