Police have arrested 55-year-old Ganesh Racktoo, a driver from Lot 365, Enmore, East Coast Demerara, in connection with a hit-and-run accident that occurred on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at approximately 17:50 hrs on Enmore Station Road.

A wanted bulletin had previously been issued for Racktoo.

According to a police report, 43-year-old Charran Suresh of Newtown, Enmore, East Coast Demerara, was standing on the eastern side of Enmore Access Road when he was allegedly struck by a mini-bus traveling north along the roadway. The driver reportedly failed to stop and fled the scene.

Suresh was found unconscious and transported by Emergency Medical Technicians to the Enmore Regional Hospital. He was later transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation for further medical attention, where he was admitted as a patient.

Police processed the scene and have confirmed that investigations are ongoing into the circumstances of the accident and the role of the driver.
