15-Y-O Died From Multiple Injuries Resulting From a Motor Vehicle Accident – PME
October 31, 2025 — A post-mortem examination conducted today on the body of 15-year-old Annandale Secondary School student, Navindra Mahes, confirmed that he died from multiple injuries resulting from a motor vehicle accident.
The examination was performed at the Georgetown Public Hospital mortuary by Government Pathologist Dr. Nehaul Singh at approximately 08:10 hours. Following the examination, the body was handed over to the family for funeral arrangements.
Mahes tragically lost his life on Thursday morning after being struck by a car driven by a female Police Corporal along the Success Public Road, East Coast Demerara. The incident occurred around 7:30 a.m., and Mahes was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation, where he succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment.
The driver remains under close arrest as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
Police have assured that the matter is being handled with transparency and due process, and further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
