BREAKING: Azruddin and Nazar Mohamed arrested pending extradition to USA

Businessman Nazar Mohamed and his son, WIN Party leader Azruddin Mohamed, were both arrested on Friday at different locations in Georgetown pending their extradition to the United States.
BIG Smith News Watch has been informed that the Government of Guyana has officially received an extradition request from a US law Enforcement agency.
Videos are circulating on Social media of the WIN leader sitting in the tray of an open-back Hilux Police Pickup, guarded by men in ski masks.
The father and son were sanctioned by the United States in 2024 for gold smuggling crimes. Before their sanction, the duo for years was unable to travel to the United States. Recently, the US announced that the Mohameds were indicted in a court in the United States.
Azruddin Mohamed entered politics in early 2025 and contested the September general and Regional Elections, which saw his party, We Invest In Nationhood, securing the second largest amount of votes cast for the elections.
His party submitted names for the Members of Parliament for the 13th Parliament, and he was named as one of those prospective candidates who will take up a seat in parliament as a legislator. Members of the 13th parliament will be sworn in on Monday, November 03, 2025
