Decomposed Body Discovered at Hope Seawalls

May 13 2025 – Authorities in Regional Division 4’C’ have launched an investigation following the discovery of a decomposed body at the Hope Seawalls early Sunday morning.
According to a police report, a 911 call was received around 6:45 AM on May 11, 2025, alerting law enforcement to the presence of a motionless body along the shoreline. Upon arrival, officers from the Cove and John Police Station found the body of a male lying face-down among the rocks at the water’s edge.
The man was described as being in an advanced state of decomposition. He was clothed in black knee-length pants and a brown long-sleeve shirt. A tattoo was noted on his right hand, which may assist in the identification process.
Due to the condition of the remains, police were unable to determine any visible signs of violence during an initial examination. The body was photographed at the scene and later transported to the Memorial Funeral Parlor Mortuary, where it is being held pending formal identification and a post-mortem examination.
Several individuals in the area were questioned, but no significant leads or information were obtained as to the man’s identity or how he came to be at the location.
Investigations are ongoing. Authorities are urging anyone who may have information related to the deceased or the circumstances of the discovery to contact the nearest police station.
