Dead bandit identified as 24-Y-O Lodge resident

Authorities have identified the man who was fatally shot during an alleged attempted armed robbery at a supermarket on Mandela Avenue, Georgetown, on Wednesday evening.
The deceased has been identified as 24-year-old Nia Emmanuel of Norton Street, Lodge.
Investigators also recovered a .38 revolver at the scene along with three live rounds, one spent shell from the weapon, and three 9mm spent shells. The items have been lodged pending forensic examination.
Emmanuel’s body was transported to Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, where it is awaiting a post-mortem examination.
Further checks revealed that the deceased was wanted in connection with an alleged discharging of a loaded firearm with intent incident that occurred on November 3, 2025.
Investigations are continuing as efforts intensify to locate other individuals believed to have been involved in the incident.
