Kaleta Victoria Bristol, a 48-year-old businesswoman of Lot 867 Dazzle Housing Scheme, East Coast Demerara, has been charged with possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking following her arrest on Monday.

Bristol appeared before Magistrate Teriq Mohammed at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, where the charge was read to her. She pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of $50,000.

As part of her bail conditions, Bristol is required to report to the Enmore Police Station on the last Friday of every month until the matter is concluded. The case has been adjourned to September 8, 2025.

According to police reports, Bristol was found with 152 grams of marijuana during a routine stop at the Itaballi Police Checkpoint around 14:30 hrs on Monday. The drugs were discovered after police ranks intercepted a motor pickup, bearing registration number PAH 7995, in which she was a passenger.
