DEAD: Christopher Williams

Christopher Williams, a boat builder reportedly drowned on Sunday afternoon after his boat capsized in the Pomeroon River. Information reaching this publication has revealed that Williams, a resident of Jacklow Upper Pomeroon River, was intoxicated at the time of the incident.

Eye witnesses told Big Smith News Watch that the incident occurred around 17:30 hrs within the vicinity of the Charity Waterfront. Witnesses said that Williams entered his boat, bend over towards his steering wheel but did not get back up;  almost immediately, the boat drove off unmanned.

Reports are that the boat drove across the river, before crashing and capsizing in a clump of bushes. Public spirited citizens rushed to the scene in their boats, and tried to render assistance. Upon upturning the wooden boat, they realized that Williams was missing.

After a brief search, William’s body was recovered from the river.

His body was later escorted to the Oscar Joseph District Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by a doctor.
