Tawana Hamlet, a 28-year-old hairdresser from Ann’s Grove, East Coast Demerara, has been charged with two counts of inflicting grievous bodily harm following an incident involving a 26-year-old man and his four-year-old daughter.

Hamlet was arrested on June 15, 2025, and formally charged on June 17 by ranks from the Cove and John Police Station.

The alleged offences occurred on June 15 in Ann’s Grove, where Tyrese Brandon Boucher and his young daughter were reportedly injured during the incident.

Hamlet appeared before Magistrate Orinthia Schmidt at the Cove and John Magistrate’s Court on June 17. She pleaded not guilty to both charges and was granted bail in the sum of $80,000 on each count.

The matter has been adjourned to July 13, 2025, for report and disclosure of statements.
