April 4, 2025 – An investigation has been launched into the alleged murder of a 28-year-old man known as “Blacka,” who was fatally stabbed on Thursday night at Kwakwani waterfront, Region Ten.

According to a police report, the incident occurred between 10:00 PM and 10:15 PM on April 3, following an altercation at a wooden house owned by 24-year-old Daniel Hartman, the prime suspect.

Investigations revealed that Hartman had left his home in August 2024 to work in Georgetown, leaving his 28-year-old brother, Nicholas Hartman, in the house.

Upon his return on April 3, he found his brother and “Blacka” at the residence. When Hartman questioned his brother about “Blacka’s” presence, Nicholas explained that they were friends and that “Blacka” had been staying there while searching for a job.

An argument ensued between Hartman and “Blacka” over his continued stay at the house. Nicholas reportedly left during the altercation but returned 15 to 20 minutes later to find “Blacka” lying in a pool of blood on the hall floor with a knife nearby. Nicholas immediately contacted the police.

Law enforcement officers responded and found “Blacka” unresponsive. He was taken to the Kwakwani Hospital Complex, where he was examined by Dr. Acher and later succumbed to his injuries. Medical personnel observed multiple stab wounds to his lower back and chest. His body has been moved to the Kwakwani Mortuary, pending a post-mortem examination.

Following investigations, police arrested Daniel Hartman at Kwakwani waterfront. He was informed of the allegations, cautioned, and subsequently admitted to stabbing “Blacka” during a scuffle. Hartman claimed the dispute escalated when “Blacka” refused to leave the house.

Hartman is currently in police custody as investigations continue.
