Police are investigating an assault that occurred at First Lady Park, Windsor Forest, West Coast Demerara, following a report made in connection with a video of the incident that has been circulating on social media.

The incident took place on Sunday, January 25, 2026. According to police, investigations revealed that on Monday, January 26, 2026, at about 16:00 hrs, a 21-year-old man of Zeelugt, East Bank Essequibo, reported to the Leonora Police Station and identified himself as the individual seen being assaulted in the video.

The complainant stated that he was seated at the park when he was approached by three males who assaulted him and attempted to rob him of his cellular phone. However, no property was taken. The suspects subsequently fled the scene in a motor car.
