Archibald unable to make long jump final World Championships

Guyana’s Emanuel Archibald was unable to make the final of the men’s long jump at the World Athletics Championships being held in Tokyo, Japan.
Jumping in Group B of the qualifying round, Archibald leapt a distance of 7.62 metres on Monday, which was not good enough to qualify for the final.
Via a Facebook post Archibald expressed both his disappointment of the performance and his optimism for a new season.
“Not the results I expected, another year I have done the work and still underperformed but guess what? We go again next year,” Archibald stated on his Facebook page.
Archibald’s performance concludes his season and Guyana’s representation at the championships as Guyana’s lone athlete at the event.
