Ann Greene Leads MoE’s Grief Counselling Support Initiative

From the Ministry of Education:
“Today, the Ministry of Education reaffirms its commitment to supporting the pupils, teachers, and staff as they continue to cope with the tragic loss of Adrianna Younge.
This morning, our specialized School Support Services team, led by Ms. Ann Greene, former Head of the Child Care and Protection Agency, began trauma and grief counseling sessions at schools where that Adrianna attended as an initial response.
These sessions are aimed at providing critical emotional support and helping the school community navigate the grieving process with care and compassion. These schools include Meten-Meer-Zorg Primary School and Parika Salem Primary School, where Adrianna attended.
The Ministry remains steadfast in its efforts to prioritize mental health and emotional well-being, particularly in times of profound sorrow. We will continue to offer our support in the days and weeks ahead to the school community.
Schools across the country are grieving and addressing that process with the guidance of experts and administrators.
We extend our deepest sympathies once again to Adrianna’s family, friends and all affected.”
