Albouystown Vendor Shot Dead

May 2 2025 – Police have launched an investigation into the alleged murder of 54-year-old Datson Davidson, known as “Blackie,” a clothes vendor who resided at Callender Street, Albouystown.
The incident occurred on the evening of Thursday, May 1, 2025, at the intersection of Cocorite and Freeman Streets in East La Penitence, Georgetown.
According to reports, the suspect, 33-year-old Colwin Marcurius, a shop owner of Freeman Street, has been arrested in connection with the incident.
According to a police report, preliminary investigations indicate that at approximately 20:45 hrs, an argument broke out between Davidson and Marcurius—two individuals known to each other.
During the confrontation, a loud explosion, suspected to be a gunshot, was heard. Davidson was later found lying motionless a short distance from the scene.
Emergency Medical Technicians were summoned, and Davidson was pronounced dead at the scene by a medical doctor.
Crime scene investigators recovered a 9mm pistol, one live round, and a spent shell casing. Marcurius was promptly taken into custody and remains under police detention as investigations continue.
