4 year old dies after struck by cricket ball during family game

Woman takes her life after checking into short-time hotel

A four-year old girl, who was reportedly struck to the tummy with a cricket ball yesterday afternoon, was discovered to be motionless earlier this morning in her bed.

The child has been identified as Shelly Modeste from Charity on the Essequibo Coast.

Based on information reaching the BIG Smith News Watch, the child was playing cricket with her family yesterday afternoon, when the incident occurred.

One individual who’s familiar with the incident, told this publication, “Apparently the mother pelt a ball and it connected to her four-year-old daughter tummy. She cried out for pain and in the afternoon hours she gone and sleep and this morning they tried waking her and she wasn’t waking up.”

The child was eventually rushed to the Oscar Joseph District Hospital at Charity where sadly, she was pronounced dead.

The police are reportedly conducting investigations in an effort to ascertain what transpired.

The body on the other hand, is presently at the Charity Morgue, where it awaits a postmortem examination for later today.
