A Corentyne woman was rushed to a public hospital after she was discovered in her home Tuesday morning beaten and allegedly raped.

The bathered woman has been identified as a 98 year old from the upper Corentyne who lives alone.
When BIG Smith News Watch visited the woman’s home, she was visibly shaken and traumatized even as marks of violence can been seen to her face.
Her caretaker, disclosed that she had made arragements with the elderly woman to take her out to a function in the area today.
She related that when she arrived at the woman’s home, she was greeted with a glass containing alcohol on the step and immediately became suspicious.
Upon entering the house, she discovered the elderly woman who told her that she was assaulted by a male who also stuck his hand in her mouth and choked her.
“So I started to clean her up to take her to the doctor we discover that like them have sex with her so the police came and them ain’t really do anything them just look and told us to get back on to them if we get any knowledge of who did it”
At this time it is unclear as to how many persons committed the act. Neighbours were also contacted and they disclosed that they heard or saw nothing unusual during the night into the morning.
Investigations are ongoing
