PME Confirms Joshua Taylor Died from Blunt Head Trauma

A post-mortem examination conducted on Friday has confirmed that 24-year-old businessman Joshua Eric Taylor died from blunt trauma to the head, with no evidence of gunshot wounds or strangulation, as previously speculated by some media outlets.

According to a police press statement, the examination was conducted by Government Pathologist Dr. Nehaul Singh at the Georgetown Public Hospital Mortuary.

The body was formally identified by Taylor’s mother, 51-year-old businesswoman Annette Taylor, and his brother Alec Taylor, 27, both of South Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown. The procedure was witnessed by a Detective Woman Sergeant and a Senior Superintendent of Police.

Dr. Singh concluded that Taylor’s cause of death was blunt trauma to the head, which could have resulted from either a fall or being struck. The pathologist also noted signs of brain swelling, which could be linked to drug use. A sample has since been taken for toxicology testing.

Importantly, there were no signs of gunshot injuries or strangulation on the body, contradicting earlier unverified reports.

According to a key civilian witness in the case, Taylor was reportedly attempting to climb a seven-foot-high iron gate when his clothing became entangled. He allegedly fell into the yard of a relative and struck his head. Although he got up shortly after the fall, witnesses observed a red substance—believed to be blood—on his forehead.

Taylor’s body has since been released to his family for burial or cremation. Police say the investigation remains active, and updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
