On the run are Imran Ramsaywack, Rayon Jones, Samuel Goveia and Kenrick Lyte. The men made their escape from Mazaruni Prison located on the Essequibo River just about 7:15 on Tuesday morning.

Prison authorities have been able to confirm their escape as a manhunt is on the way. The men would have been serving either live or long sentences for varying crimes.

Samuel Gouveia was serving a sentence for the murder of miner Santee Solomon while Imran Ramsaywack was sentenced to death for the murder of Samantha Benjamin. Kenrick Lyte was also sentenced to death for the murder of pensioner Osmond Fiedtkou.

More details to come.
