GDF rank killed as speeding motorcycles collide in Sophia

DEAD: Leroy Hercules

Police are investigating an accident on Plum Park Farms Field Access Road, E Field Sophia on Monday evening between two motorcycles.. CG 9908 and CJ 7787.

Leroy Hercules of D’Urban Street was killed while Kerien Rampershed of Plum Park Sophia was admitted to the Georgetown Public Hospital.

CG 9908 which was being ridden by Rampershed and CJ 7787 which was being ridden by Hercules were both speeding in opposite directions when Leroy suddenly attempted to swerve from a load on a sand on the road but collided with Rampershed.

Both were knocked unconscious and taken to the hospital where Leroy was pronounced dead on arrival.

Rampershed suffered broken right leg and Fracture right hand. He was admitted to the critical bay at the hospital.

Police sources indicated that the accident took place at 19:30hrs in the vicinity of Black and White bridge.

Both motorcycles have been lodged with the police and will be examined by a licensing and Certifying officer.
