Shortly after, a Guyana Fire Service tender along with three ranks, members of the Guyana Police Force and a team from the Skeldon Hospital arrived at the location assisted the driver out of the vehicle.

He was taken to the hospital where he was seen and examined by a doctor on duty who treated and referred him to New Amsterdam Public Hospital for further treatment. His condition regards as serious with his intestine protruding. The police are continuing their investigations into the matter.

Just last week two policemen and two nurses almost lost their lives along the said Corentyne Road after a police swerved his vehicle to avoid hitting a cow which was reportedly standing in the middle of the road.
