Guyanese cricketers and coaches could access training exchanges and joint development programmes following an agreement between the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport and Pakistan Super League franchise Lahore Qalandars.
The memorandum was signed by Qalandars Owner and Team Director Sameen Rana, Minister Charles Ramson Jr. and Minister within the
Ministry Steven Jacobs. The Guyana Cricket Board will provide technical support for programmes developed under the arrangement.
Planned areas of cooperation include talent scouting, coaching education and high-performance training. The agreement also allows for youth camps, coaching clinics and women’s cricket initiatives, although these activities remain subject to development under the partnership.
Lahore Qalandars won PSL championships in 2022, 2023 and 2025. The collaboration gives Guyana an avenue to draw on the franchise’s experience in preparing players and supporting coaches.
