Local Content portal moves to new web address with upgraded services

The Ministry of Natural Resources, through the Local Content Secretariat, has moved the Local Content Portal to a new official web address as part of efforts to improve access to local content services.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Natural Resources, the portal, previously accessible at lcregister.petroleum.gov.gy, is now available at localcontent.gov.gy.
The upgraded platform provides Guyanese nationals and companies with a more user-friendly system to apply for, manage and maintain Local Content certification online.
Among the improvements are a redesigned interface and a more structured application process, with forms divided into clear sections. Applicants can also save their progress and return later without having to restart an application.
The portal also allows users to securely upload and replace supporting documents, monitor application status, respond to requests for changes and access issued certificates through a personal applicant workspace.
Certificate holders will receive email reminders when their certificates become eligible for renewal, while the simplified renewal process allows relevant information from previous applications to be reused for review and confirmation.
Users can also access online notifications and message histories showing correspondence with the Local Content Secretariat, while approved applicants can notify the Secretariat of changes to ownership, directorship or registered addresses.
The new system also provides online certificate access and verification, allowing certificate holders to download their certificates while members of the public can verify certificate information.
The Ministry said existing user accounts, applications and Local Content Certificates remain valid and available through the new portal. Certificate holders are therefore not required to reapply solely because of the change in web address.
Applicants and certificate holders are encouraged to bookmark localcontent.gov.gy and use their existing account details to sign in. First-time applicants can create new accounts directly through the portal.
The upgrade forms part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to improve public-service delivery, strengthen transparency and support greater Guyanese participation in the petroleum sector.
