Man detained with suspected stolen motorcycle, gel gun

A man remains in custody following the recovery of a suspected stolen motorcycle and a suspected gel gun during an early morning operation on Wednesday, June 10, 2026.
The incident occurred around 04:20hrs along the Bagotstown/Eccles Public Road, East Bank Demerara, where a 25-year-old man was observed riding a motorcycle displaying trade plates.
He reportedly failed to stop when signalled and later lost control of the motorcycle at Flour Mill Road, where he was apprehended.
The man was taken to a police station along with the motorcycle and a haversack containing several items.
According to police, preliminary checks indicate that the motorcycle is suspected to be stolen and may be linked to a report made in Regional Division Three.
A subsequent search at the man’s residence led to the discovery of a suspected gel gun.
The motorcycle, along with the recovered items, has been lodged as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the matter.
