17-Y-O in custody for killing friend at Croal St.

A 17-year-old boy lost his life on Wednesday evening following a stabbing incident at Croal Street in the vicinity of the Route 40 Minibus Park in Georgetown.
Dead is Keroy Profit of Covent Garden, East Bank Demerara.
According to police, Profit and another 17-year-old male, who were among a group of students gathered in the area, were allegedly engaged in horseplay when the incident occurred.
During the confrontation, the teen reportedly received a stab wound to the neck from a pair of scissors allegedly wielded by the other youth.
The injured teenager was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation, where he later succumbed while receiving medical treatment.
His body has since been taken to the hospital mortuary pending a post-mortem examination.
The suspect has since been taken into custody as investigations continue.
