Police probing viral assault at Sara Johanna EBD

Police have launched an investigation into an alleged assault involving a 52-year-old woman of Sara Johanna Squatting Area, East Bank Demerara, after a video of the incident surfaced and began circulating widely on social media.

 

According to a police report, the victim made contact with investigators on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at approximately 14:30 hrs at Regional Police Headquarters 4 ‘B’.

 

She reported that the incident occurred at her residence on Monday, March 23, 2025, and involved another woman from the same community.

 

Investigators have since confirmed that the altercation was recorded and later shared online, prompting public concern and police intervention. Statements have been obtained from both the victim and her daughter as part of the ongoing probe.

 

Authorities have indicated that efforts are currently underway to locate and contact the suspect. Investigations remain active.
