The trial of four persons accused of the 2021 murder of Keon McPherson is currently underway before Justice Gino Persaud at the High Court in Demerara.

On trial are Nicholas Hercules, Brenna Nurse, Devon Harry and Peter Lam, who are charged with murdering McPherson in September 2021.

DEAD; Keon McPherson

McPherson, 25, of Lot 687 ‘D’ Field, Sophia, Greater Georgetown, was found dead in a yard at C’ Field, Sophia with gunshot wounds about his body.

Following investigations, the four accused were arrested and later charged in connection with the killing.

They first appeared before Magistrate Alisha George at the Sparendaam Magistrates’ Courts shortly after the incident.

At that time, the charge was read to them, but they were not required to enter pleas and were remanded to prison pending the outcome of the matter.

The case was later committed to the High Court, where the trial is now being heard before Justice Persaud.

The proceedings form part of the current sitting of the Demerara Criminal Assizes.
