Key Evidence Filed in Deadly Gas Station Bombing Case

December 16, 2025 — Proceedings in the case stemming from the deadly October bombing of a Georgetown gas station advanced today after prosecutors completed full disclosure of evidence against four of the accused.

The matter was called before Acting Chief Magistrate Faith McGusty at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, where the prosecution confirmed that all witness statements and forensic reports had now been submitted.

Prosecutor Mandel Moore told the court that the disclosure included long-awaited forensic test results from overseas, specifically from India, where two key items recovered from the crime scene had been examined.

With disclosure complete, the prosecution applied for the matter to proceed by way of paper committal, a procedure that allows a magistrate to review written evidence to determine whether the case should be sent to the High Court for trial.

However, defence attorney Mikel Puran, who represents accused Johnny Boodram, requested additional time to review the newly disclosed material.

The court granted the application, and the matter was adjourned to December 30 for further proceedings.

The four accused before the court are Venezuelan national Daniel Alexander Ramirez Poedemo, who police have identified as the alleged mastermind, along with Alexander Bettancourt, Johnny Boodram and Krystal LaCruz. They are charged in connection with the explosion at the Mobil Service Station at Regent and King Streets, Georgetown, which claimed the life of a six-year-old girl and caused widespread public outrage.

The seven individuals have been charged in relation to the bombing.

The remaining three accused — Wayne Correia, Ramesh Pramdeo and Jennifer Rodriguez — are facing charges in separate magisterial districts, with their matter scheduled to be heard on December 17.

Investigators allege that Poedemo illegally entered Guyana from Venezuela, conducted reconnaissance at the gas station, and placed an explosive device near the gas cylinder storage area before fleeing the scene.
