Guyana has once again emerged as the top-performing nation in the Caribbean at both the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) and Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE), according to official results released today by the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC).

Two outstanding students from Queen’s College, Mahesa Boodhoo and Sara Khan, have been named the Most Outstanding Performers in the region for CSEC and CAPE respectively. Their remarkable achievements continue Guyana’s proud tradition of academic excellence and regional leadership in education.

Minister of Education, Hon. Sonia Parag, expressed immense pride in the students’ accomplishments, crediting their success to hard work, dedication, and the unwavering support of educators and families.

“Guyana continues to excel on the regional stage because of the resilience, commitment, and excellence of our students and educators,” Minister Parag said. “Mahesa and Sara have upheld the distinguished legacy and high standards of our education system. The Ministry remains dedicated to expanding opportunities for all learners to thrive.”

The Ministry of Education extended heartfelt congratulations to both students and expressed gratitude to teachers, parents, and school administrators nationwide for their pivotal role in supporting student achievement.

Further announcements recognizing additional outstanding performers in various subject areas are expected soon, as Guyana continues to celebrate the exceptional performance of its students across the country.
