November 3, 2025 — A 62-year-old Georgetown businesswoman, Paulette Emanuel, was today sentenced to two years’ imprisonment and fined $30,000 on each of two counts of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.

Emanuel, a resident of Lot 2567 North Ruimveldt, Georgetown, was arrested on Sunday, November 2, 2025

She appeared before His Worship T. Mohammed at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court, where the charges were read. Emanuel pleaded guilty to both counts and was sentenced accordingly.

The case forms part of ongoing efforts by law enforcement authorities to curb the trafficking and distribution of illegal narcotics across the country.
