MoE’s Math Intervention Campaign Expands to Linden

November 26, 2024 — The Ministry of Education’s Mathematics Intervention Campaign has made its latest stop in Linden, Region Ten, as part of a nationwide initiative to improve mathematics performance and promote academic excellence in schools.
Chief Education Officer (CEO) Saddam Hussain visited Wisburg Secondary School, commending its academic achievements and urging students to continue striving for excellence. Speaking to students and staff, Mr. Hussain highlighted the transformative goals of the Mathematics Intervention Campaign, which aims to equip students with the skills necessary for both academic success and personal development.

Deputy Chief Education Officer (Administration) Tiffany Harvey also participated in the campaign’s expansion by visiting Christianburg Secondary School and Mackenzie High School. During her interactions, Ms. Harvey reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to supporting schools in Region Ten and encouraged students to take advantage of the resources provided under the initiative.
At Linden Foundation Secondary School, Assistant Chief Education Officer Ameer Ali emphasized the critical role of mathematics education in shaping student success. He praised the school for its dedication to overcoming challenges and improving learning outcomes in the subject.
The Mathematics Intervention Campaign is a strategic program designed to enhance student performance in mathematics through innovative teaching methods, targeted interventions, and continuous support for educators. It aligns with the Ministry of Education’s broader mission to provide equitable access to quality education across Guyana.
