Alistair Charlie Achieves Master’s Degree with Top Honors

November 15, 2024– Parliamentarian Alistair Charlie has reached a significant academic milestone, earning a Master’s Degree in General Business Administration from the University of Excellence, Management and Business (UEMB).
Notably, Charlie graduated as valedictorian of his class, achieving a perfect GPA of 4.0 with A+ distinction.

Reflecting on his achievement, Charlie credited his humble beginnings in the hinterland of Guyana as the foundation of his determination and resilience.
Growing up in modest circumstances, attending Arapaima Primary and St. Ignatius Secondary schools, Charlie often went to school barefoot, carrying his exercise books in a plastic bag.
Despite limited resources, his parents instilled in him the value of education, hard work, and dreaming big.
“Education is the key to transforming our lives,” Charlie emphasized. “It opens doors to opportunities we may never have imagined. The journey is not always easy, but I encourage everyone to pursue their education, no matter the challenges.”
Charlie also expressed gratitude to his mother, friends and colleagues for their unwavering support.
He specifically acknowledged Ron, Joshua, Mr. Ryan Tulsiram and the Ministry of Amerindian Affairs staff, Rafael, and others for their encouragement throughout his journey.
Looking ahead, Charlie plans to pursue a PhD as the next step in his academic career, continuing his mission to make meaningful contributions to Guyana and beyond.
