Vice President Dr. Bharat Jagdeo, accompanied by Minister of Public Works Deodat Indar, Minister within the Ministry of Housing Susan Rodrigues, Minister within the Office of the Prime Minister Kwame McCoy, and a delegation of government officials, visited various sections of Sophia to oversee developmental initiatives.

This evening, at the Sophia C Field Community Center, approximately 35 contracts were signed, before hundreds of villagers, for developmental projects aimed at enhancing the infrastructure and livelihoods of residents in and around the area.

In his address, Vice President Dr. Jagdeo underscored the importance of timely and high-quality work, emphasizing the need to engage local residents for employment opportunities.

Minister McCoy echoed these sentiments, urging villagers to resist divisive rumors and prioritize peace and harmony within the community.

Ministers Rodrigues and Indar fielded inquiries and concerns from residents regarding housing and public works issues, respectively, demonstrating the government’s commitment to addressing community needs.

Throughout the evening, Vice President Dr. Jagdeo dedicated significant time to listening to and addressing the community’s concerns, reaffirming the government’s dedication to fostering positive development in Sophia.

The signing of contracts and the government’s direct engagement with residents mark a significant step towards fulfilling promises of progress and prosperity in the region.
