Today, approximately 300 children from orphanages and Special Education Needs schools across Guyana were treated to an unforgettable experience at the Suarez Brothers’ Circus, thanks to a joint effort by First Lady Mrs. Arya Ali and Mexico’s Ambassador to Guyana, Mauricio Vizcaíno Crespo.

The initiative, spearheaded by the First Lady’s Adopt-an-Orphanage program, aims to offer financial and psychosocial support to children in institutional care.

The event provided these children with a rare opportunity to witness the spectacle of the circus firsthand, courtesy of the collaborative efforts of Mrs. Ali and Ambassador Vizcaíno.

The children were enthralled by a mesmerizing display of performing arts, acrobatics, and comedy, with the clowns stealing the show and eliciting laughter from the captivated audience.

Their joy was palpable as they reveled in the thrilling performances, their faces lit up with excitement throughout the event.

Adding to the excitement, the children were treated to Mexican snow cones and popcorn, enhancing their overall experience at the circus.

In a statement, Mrs. Arya Ali emphasized the importance of providing vulnerable children with opportunities for holistic development, underscoring the significance of emotional well-being and social skills in shaping their future success.

She reiterated the commitment of the President’s One Guyana platform to inclusivity, emphasizing the need for all children, regardless of their circumstances, to feel included in society.

Ambassador Vizcaíno expressed his delight in being part of an initiative that brought joy to the lives of children and contributed positively to their well-being.

He praised the collaboration between the First Lady’s office and the Mexican Embassy in Georgetown, describing the event as a special occasion for Guyana’s children.

The Adopt-an-Orphanage initiative currently supports several orphanages, including Joshua House Children Centre, Bless the Children’s Home, and St. John Bosco Orphanage, among others. Additionally, special needs schools such as the Resource Unit for Special Needs Children in Linden and the New Amsterdam Special Needs School participated in today’s event.

The Suarez Brothers Circus, renowned worldwide for its diverse acts and captivating performances, provided an unforgettable experience for the children, leaving a lasting impression on their hearts and minds.
