Mahipaul calls for unity ahead of PNCR Congress

In a notable message to members of the People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR), MP Ganesh Mahipaul has called for peace and unity as the party prepares for its biennial Delegates’ Congress in 2024.

With the event on the horizon, Mahipaul highlights the palpable anticipation and energy within the party.

He noted that the PNCR embodies inclusivity and empowerment, offering every financial member the opportunity to shape the party’s future. With the Congress looming before August 31, 2024, members are gearing up for a significant moment in the party’s journey.

Central to this democratic process is the freedom for any member to vie for elected offices, including Leader, Chairman, Vice-Chairs, Treasurer, or CEC member.

Mahipaul acknowledges the current stage being set with Aubrey Norton, signaling his intention to seek re-election as Leader, while Roysdale Forde, has expressed his intent to contest for the same position.

As the Congress approaches, Mahipaul anticipates that many other devoted members will step forward to declare their intentions to contest for various offices. This exercise of democratic rights is fundamental to the PNCR’s ethos and underscores the diversity of voices within the party.

Reflecting on past Congresses characterized by robust debates and healthy competition, Mahipaul emphasizes the importance of maintaining integrity and playing by the rules. While spirited discourse is integral to democracy, championing policies and programs that resonate with the membership and offer a vision for a brighter future is paramount.

Mahipaul urges unity as the guiding principle in rallying for victory in 2025. Despite any differences, a shared commitment to the PNCR’s ideals and objectives should unite members in their pursuit of national progress and prosperity.

With maturity, mutual respect, and a focus on the greater good, he believes the party can overcome any obstacles.

Mahipaul extends his best wishes to all comrades seeking office, calling for unwavering support for the PNCR as they march towards a brighter future for Guyana.
