Fatal Altercation Unfolds in Tucville, Suspect in Custody Assisting with Investigation

Amaziah Hohnikirk, a 36-year-old laborer from lot 1803 Unity Place, Festival City has been stabbed to death.

The incident took place at Lot 3 Perry Street in Tucville. The alleged perpetrator, Alicia Edmonson, a 42-year-old housewife residing at the same address, is currently in custody assisting with the investigation.

According to a statement issued by the Guyana Police Force, the suspect, Alicia, and her son Darrel Kennedy, 24, had a dispute over a damaged speaker box yesterday.

Darrel, a laborer and friend of the deceased, was involved in the altercation.

This morning Alicia informed her other son, Malkchi Kennedy, 21, also a laborer, that Darrel had allegedly abused her.

Subsequently, Malkchi went in search of Darrel and encountered Hohnikirk, along with an individual named Sean, on Perry Street.

An argument ensued, leading them back to Alicia’s residence.

During the confrontation at Alicia’s residence, Sean allegedly armed himself with a hockey stick and struck Alicia on her left wrist.

In response, Alicia allegedly retrieved a knife and inflicted multiple stab wounds on Hohnikirk, including one to the abdomen and one each on the left and right wrists.

BIG Smith News Watch was informed that Hohnikirk was trying to make peace between the individuals when he was injured.

Following the altercation, Hohnikirk fled the scene with Sean, seeking refuge at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).

Despite medical intervention, the victim succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.

Both the suspect, Alicia, and her son Malkchi are currently in custody as investigations into the incident continue.
