– KFC Good Will Tournament

In what was anticipated to be the highlight fixture of the semi-finals, Chase Academy and Benedict’s College clashed in a thrilling encounter during the KFC Good Will Tournament.

The match lived up to its billing, offering fans a spectacle of action and chances, culminating in a dramatic 1-0 victory for the Trinidad team at the Ministry of Education Ground, Carifesta Georgetown.

The tense battle saw both teams creating opportunities and showcasing their skills on the field.

With no shortage of excitement, the match kept spectators on the edge of their seats until the very end.

The turning point came in the 93rd minute, just seconds before the end of regulation, when a goalkeeping lapse proved costly for Chase Academy.

Omar Sam had the chance to deal a fatal blow to the St. Benedict’s boys, but he failed to convert a clean-cut pass from Bryan Wharton.

Wharton himself faced resilient goalkeeping from the Trinidad outfit, as they denied him from finding the back of the net.

The match was marked by near misses and outstanding saves, adding to the intensity of the encounter.

The defining moment occurred when the Chase Academy goalkeeper mishandled the ball, allowing it to slip through his legs and roll into the back of the net via a sub-par shot from Josiah Ochoa.

The field was silenced since majority of the fans came out to see the Guyanese outfit advance to the final but instead will settle for the third-place playoff game.

The defeat for Chase Academy served as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of sports, where a single lapse in concentration can alter the course of a game.

Despite the heartbreak, the team can take pride in their spirited performance and the journey they embarked on in the KFC Good Will Tournament.

As Benedict’s College advances to the final, they carry the momentum of this thrilling victory, leaving fans eager to witness more exciting football action in the culmination of the tournament.

The benedicts college will go face to face with clarendon college, while chase academic foundation will play in the third place game against VW04 of Suriname.
