A busy ‘POLICE SATURDAY’ for ‘C’ Division, Training School and ‘A Division

The Guyana Police Force has a number of activities planned for today Saturday as they seek to provide recreation for its hardworking ranks while at the same time providing an avenue for the police and the members of the public to mesh and socialize as part of their bigger objective of police/public partnerships.
The day’s events would commence with a Gymkhana in the Police ‘C’ Division on the East Coast. That event would be held at the Buxton Community Center Ground and that starts at 11: Am
Divisional Commander Senior Superintendent Calvin Brutus has assured the public especially those residing outside of Buxton that the event is expected to be filled with lots of fun and that they should not allow the fact that the event is being held in Buxton to be a deterrent from them support it.
He stressed that the police presence and security in and around the facility will be robust in an effort to ensure the safety of every person visiting the event as well and the safeguarding of their property inclusive of their vehicles.
Among the attractions would be the greasy pole with money at the top for adults to take part in, the greasy pig for the children where the person who catches the pig it becomes their own, there will also be motorcycle stunts, bouncy castle and acrobats. When the day events are concluded, the police would move into a semi dance and lime at the said facility and which would also see the sale of food and beverages.
The Felix Austin Police College will also be having a BBQ and lime later today at its facility between Young Street and the seawall road on Camp Street. The BBQ starts at 14:00hrs and would also have music and other attractions for those who will be desirous of attending and supporting the event.
But the police are not done there yet.
In Georgetown, the Police ‘A’ Division would hosting its leg of the “Miss ‘A’ Division Beauty and Intelligence Pageant”. The event would commence at 19:00hrs at the Marian Academy Auditorium on Carifestia Avenue in Georgetown. The fee to enter the pageant is $500 Guyana Dollars.
