A horrific accident which occurred on the junction of Mandela Avenue and Cemetery Road has left one man dead on the bonnet of his car, a totalled vehicle, damage to public infrastructure and a sand truck off road.

BIG Smith News Watch has been informed that the truck which was going at a fast rate, slammed into a motorcar before losing control and careening of the road in the process.

The impact caused the driver of the car to be flung through the windscreen where his body was partly resting on the bonnet of his car.

At the time of the crash, it is said that the driver of the car was the only occupant inside.

The police are continuing their investigations.
