“I will live with the consequences whatever will be, will be,” Murder suspect tells investigators

DEAD: Donalesa Park

A sister of the Guyana Defence Force Soldier who is held for questioning in relating to the murder of Donalesa Park has come forward to tell investigators that she saw her brother beating the 29-year-old who was later found wrapped in plastic. Today the Guyana Police Force in a statement said that the postmortem found that Park died as a result of strangulation.

BIG Smith News Watch has been told that the police have been able to recover an item that belongs to the dead woman which was found in the bedroom of the suspect.

In engaging detectives, relatives of the dead woman told police that the item which was found in the home of the man is among the items Park let her house with the day she went to meet with the suspect.

According to what was told to this publication, although the detained rank has not admitted to strangling Park, he has related that “he will live with the consequences of his actions and whatever will be, will be.”

Police investigators are of the view that the suspect sister’s admittance that she last saw Park alive and in the company of her (suspect) brother is significant to the work of the police.

The police are continuing to do their work and ranks from the Major Crimes Investigation Unit are working on the case.

Park’s body was found wrapped in plastic at around 07:00hrs on the morning of June 30, 2022, at Courtland Village Public Road, Corentyne, Berbice.

It was disposed of “obliquely opposite” the suspect’s home. Sources described the Camp Seweyo-based Guyana Defence Force Soldier as “a business partner” of the slain woman.

A sister reportedly last saw her alive on Wednesday, June 29 at her home, where they both reside.

Park had reportedly told the sister she was going to braid someone’s hair at Fort Ordinance, Canje, Berbice.

But when the sister contacted the woman at 6:00hrs on Thursday, an individual said had said she had to go to the Corentyne.
